New Waste Bin Signs and Labels
As a part of the President's sustainability initiative to standardize waste bins, signs and labels across campus. new recycling, composting and landfill signs and labels have been developed. Glass Recycling Temporarily Suspended
Beginning January 1, 2016, the University of Michigan must temporarily suspend the collection of glass for recycling. Glass recycling markets in this area have been depressed for a number of years and have now shutdown. The U-M Waste Reduction & Recycling Office (WRRO) is actively seeking out alternative markets and uses for discarded glass and will communicate to campus when glass is again acceptable for recycling.
